About

Everyone wants to know if Zara is a neuroscientist and that is true but it's also a bit more layered than that. By day she works in marketing and consulting for health-tech and B2B startups. She's also freelanced for nonprofits, volunteered at soup kitchens, and spent a year running a weekly science club for children aged 5–9.

Outside of work, she curates playlists with funny and oddly specific titles, thinks hot chocolate can be enjoyed without marshmallows, and will happily go deep on etymology, geopolitics, macroeconomics, or comparative religion. She has a soft spot for 90s supermodels, can be nerd-sniped by research in stem cells, organoids/assembloids and memory formation and is enamored by national parks and the architecture of historic bridges.

Other interests include offensive security, running, nonfiction books, and the occasional (non-cringe) poetry and short story.
