About
Everyone wants to know if Zara is a neuroscientist and that is true but it's also a bit more layered than that. Zara works in marketing and consulting for health-tech and B2B startups, has freelanced for nonprofits in the edtech space, and volunteered at soup kitchens on the weekends. She also runs a science club for children with learning disabilities once a week and has edited resumes and college applications pro bono in the past.
Outside of work, she curates playlists with funny and oddly specific titles, thinks hot chocolate can be enjoyed without marshmallows, and will happily go deep on etymology, geopolitics, macroeconomics, or comparative religion. She has a soft spot for 90s supermodels, esp. Christy Turlington and Yasmeen Ghauri, and can be nerd-sniped by minimalist skincare, research in stem cells, organoids/assembloids and memory formation as well as national parks and the architecture of historic bridges.
Other interests include offensive security, running, nonfiction books, poetry that doesn't make you cringe, and the occasional short story.
Zara likes meeting new people so if you have a book, music, or film recommendation or just wanna say hi, reach out.
